Greenfield Village

Yo Gabba Gabba!

We trekked to Michigan this weekend to see Nana and Papa, visited with Les and Thora, then continued on to Aunt Juli's to trick or treat at Greenfield Village.  It was pretty unique.  The outdoor village (designed to replicate the 1800s) is an 80 acre area with buildings such as Thomas Edison's laboratory and the Wright Brother's workshop.  But for Halloween, they let you in at night and light the pathways with jack-o-lanterns and set up treat stations for trick-or-treating.  Everyone working there was in elaborate costumes and there was a headless horseman running around after Ichabod Crane.  It was pretty neat.  Lucy wore her Foofa costume for the first time, Daddy was DJ Lance Rock, and Mommy went as Muno.  The best part of the night was Lucy dancing to the music, Luke running up to get his picture taken with an owl, and Taryn asking me to hold her.  (She wasn't shy one bit.)  The kids had a great time.

These big pumpkins had faces projected on them (which are lost due to my flash), but they sang along to a pre-recorded song.  Lucy loved this.  She just stared and danced.  It was so darn cute!

A rather spooky lady dressed in white on the balcony.  Creepy.

Fearless Luke getting his picture with an owl.

We stopped to get warm and eat cider, donuts, and beer for the non-preggos.  And the entire night I kept overhearing kids say "Yo Gabba Gabba!"  Jay had a few admirers to say the least...and the little boy in the stroller below could not stop staring at Jay with a smile plastered on his face.  Jay was famous.

We ate dinner with Nana and Papa on Sunday before heading home.  It was a gorgeous day!  Lucy kept smelling the flowers :)
