Happy Memorial Day!

Hello Summer!

Four whole days with our Lucy.  I love long weekends.  We had everything from cold weather, to crazy rain and thunderstorm warnings, to a hot and humid 90 degrees on Memorial Day.  This moment in the fountain was special...a moment I'll cherish.  It was just gorgeous weather and pretty windy, so we kept getting sprayed by the big fountain.  Lucy got drenched, and she loved it!  She didn't want to leave.  I'm so happy I have a water baby.  I guess Daddy will have to grin and bear the pool, beach, and sprinklers this season.

And Lucy had her first trip to Village Creamery, the local Filipino ice cream shop.  She loves ice cream, just like Daddy.  She had banana (made with fresh bananas...so good!), I had Ube, and Daddy had Espresso Chip.

I didn't remember to cart my camera with me much over the weekend, but we also had a family BBQ at Lolo and Lola's house.  Lucy got right in there with the big kids and wanted to play.

And here's a couple of cute ones of just the outfit she wore on the 90 degree day...

And here's her being silly wearing Daddy's hat.  This was of course a much colder day...

Tutu Naughty!

Lately Lucy has taken to climbing on top of the coffee table.  It was cute at first, until she learned how to scale it in 2 seconds flat.  Oh boy.

...And here she is knowingly trying to touch an outlet and attempting to elicit a reaction from me.  All kids do this I've heard.

"Miss Thang"

We were able to escape outside for just a bit in between the rain today for a short stroll.
Happy.  It ended up being quite a fun day, just baby and mommy.  Love.

A shot of our sidewalk.  They upgraded the landscaping recently adding medians, fancy brick and curved sidewalks, benches, and new lamp posts.  It looks rather quaint I think.

May Flowers

Even when Lucy's sick, she looks adorable.  My favorite part are the flowers on the bottom.

Pinafore

Lucy's pinafore finally fits.  It's reversible so I'll have to try to get some more pictures another day of the other side.  She makes it look so cute.  On a separate note, we had to take Lucy in to the Doctor today :( She had the beginnings of pink eye as well as a small ear infection!  Apparently it's viral.  She was suffering from a runny nose for awhile, but apparently it evolved into a full on faucet, and all of it backed up to her ears and eyes.  My poor sweet baby.  This is the sickest she's been her whole little life.  My little girl is still just as sweet and crazy as ever otherwise.  Her spirit is still lively, bless her heart.

Exploratorium

Happy 4th Birthday to Cousin Izzy!  We celebrated at the Skokie Exploratorium.

Uncle Deal with Cousin Emilio

I would like to remember that Mommy and Daddy were brave today and squeezed our adult bodies into nooks and crannies so that we could take Lucy around inside the jungle gym.  Lucy even went down the  tunnel slide with Mommy and didn't cry!  It was the first "big kid" slide she's ever gone down, and it was FAST!  And full of static.  Quite an adventure.

Uncle Charlie down the slide!

Okay, so maybe it was a little fun for the adults too

An 85° Day in May

We started out the rare, hot and humid day, first with a walk in the stroller, next we tried bubbles outside, then attempted another walk.  None were really that fun, or at least not as fun as the playing we did inside.  Below is Lucy dancing to Jamiroquai's "Canned Heat".  Her dance moves are SO cute and silly!

Then we played doctor.  I bought a play doctor kit to get Lucy used to the doctor's office since she seemed a little scared and upset last time.  She likes putting on the fake band aid.  We spent a good 10 minutes going back and forth putting that band aid on!  She'd walk around with it for a bit on her arm, then take it off and bring it to me to put back on her.  It was so darling.

Her default for the stethoscope was to put it around her waist every time.  I think she didn't like it when I put it in her ears.  So she ran around playing with other toys while this thing hung off her belly.  I think she forgot it was there half the time.

Happy Mother's Day!

Without you Lucy, I wouldn't be a Mommy.  I wouldn't get a special day, which in truth is really my chance to celebrate and snuggle you.  Thank you baby.

We got to have lunch with the Lerias family at Pete Miller's in Evanston.  Lucy got plenty of compliments on her outfit (courtesy of Nana).  Here are pics of her just looking cute and being silly.

DC Cousins in the House!

Cousins Winston and Jen came to visit all the way from Virginia with their son Gavin.  Lucy enjoyed touching his face towards the beginning of the weekend.  By the end, she was green with envy.  Every time Daddy or Mommy held her cousin, she immediately wanted to be picked up.

We also went to visit Uncle Richie's dentist office.  It's gotten a pretty good over haul.  Here's a few pics that show the updates, new floor and all...
