Rolling Over!

Sophie started rolling over at around 3 1/2 months. And now she won't stop! Usually she will roll over immediately onto her tummy when you lay her flat on her back. And we've since stopped swaddling her and now have found that she likes to sleep on her tummy...just like Daddy. She's SO good at rolling over in fact, that I'm convinced she is going to crawl and walk sooner than Lucy did. Time will tell I suppose.

Sophie's Baptism

Sophie behaved so well during the service where her baptism was announced! She sat quietly, then eventually fell asleep just sitting in our arms! During her official baptism, she did fairly well too. She didn't cry when they poured the water over her head, and fit perfectly into her special dress that both she and Lucy wore. Maybe we will have to preserve the dress and pass it down for generations to come. 

Most importantly, my baby is now baptized, and I look forward to watching her grow in her faith as she discovers all of God's wonderful plans for her. More now than ever, I am so very thankful to God for my girls. Two sweet, beautiful, and healthy girls. I am so very blessed, and humbled when I look at them. I don't know what I did to deserve them, but along with my life and my husband, they are God's GREATEST gift to me.

Dress Up

Lucy dressing up is becoming a daily occurrence, and it is that much more involved. She is no longer just a super hero, but a "super hero-princess-lifeguard" (my personal favorite memory: when she came downstairs with a super hero cape on, her life jacket on OVER the super hero cape, and princess high heeled shoes). I'm a little bummed that this picture is so blurry, but it warms my heart to look at it. My "princess bike rider" is one amazing girl. We have great kids.

Chicago Air and Water Show

Daddy and I got married the same weekend as the Chicago Air and Water show. So this year was our 6 year wedding anniversary, and we spent it on the top floor of our company's new building in hopes of seeing some planes. Lucy made herself right at home. It was pretty neat to hang out in the open air with a spectacular view of the city.

We ate lunch in the enclosed bar area.

That night our whole family celebrated our anniversary at a restaurant with patio seating. It was a BEAUTIFUL night, and we had so much fun eating, coloring, playing with "snow monster", and making silly faces. Breezy, warm and comfortable, with two well behaved girls. A good night.

3 Month Photo Shoot

Our little one had her first photo shoot. Sophie is 3 months old! Lucy is also 2 1/2, so I tried my best to get a picture of the two of them together. It didn't go so well :) We did our best, but my regularly smiley baby didn't smile! ...until we were on our way out to the car. She gave the cutest little grin in her precious pink plaid outfit. Too bad it was just a picture from my iPhone.

The next day I tried to take some with my digital SLR...and again, no smiles :( But she looks so cute anyway!

Bath Time!

My Sophie Charlotte is a squirmy little thing! She won't sit still in the bathtub, has figured out the secret to splashing, and kicks and kicks and kicks in the tub! She also likes to heave her legs up high and slam them down with such force so she can scoot her body backwards on the floor. I have a feeling she's going to crawl early...

House Warming

Our dear friends bought a new house in Ada! So we traveled to Michigan for a fun playdate, dip in the pool, and some quality time with family and friends. They live fairly close to Nana and Papa. It was a nice quiet trip.

Beautiful Girls

I can't get over how old Lucy looks in these photos, or how happy Sophie looks! But they are both so beautiful. (Special thanks to Great Grandma for Lucy's adorable outfit.)

I'll also make a note to say that she is holding her head up SO good all by herself nowadays. She doesn't seem to enjoy tummy time as much anymore, but she stands so good on her two feet. She puts weight down, and then sometimes jumps off. She's actually almost mobile now because she has the habit of pushing off the ground with her feet while she's on her back, which will send her scooting. She can scoot from one end of the bed to the other. Does this technically count as crawling?!

She's also 3 Months old now, so we moved her into her crib (which is still in Mommy and Daddy's room). She's not been sleeping the best, so I'm sure it's due to the new digs...or a growth spurt.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

A quick little birthday party for the birthday boy, but Lucy loved it. We had two little cakes, one for Daddy, and the other to have Lucy blow out a candle. She also made sure to help daddy open his gift. She said "open the present" all by herself. (I didn't even know she knew the word present!) Then when she saw it was a travel coffee mug, she said "Drink the coffee", proceeded to pretend to drink out of it, then said "Mmmm, that's GOOD!" She always makes us laugh.
