Memorial Weekend

Happy Birthdays to Violet and Jaxon!  We celebrated with them Memorial Day Weekend in their backyard with food and a pool.  Lucy loved it!  Sophie pretty much stayed indoors or in the shade.

The girls totally took over the pool.  Lucy stayed in almost the whole time.

The following day we went to Lolo and Lola's house and played in the backyard.  It was windy!!!  We moved indoors and had fun with hats and Uncle Richie.

Nana & Papa Visit

It takes a village they say.  So Nana and Papa came to help Mommy out for the week after Daddy went back to work.  And THANK goodness they did.  Lucy is a handful and into everything at this age with no regard for safety, and she bores easily which makes for a dangerous combination.  Plus, she loves the attention and lives for "Nana visits".  She showed off her dance moves that week, took a trip to the outdoor mall and played with the fountain, ate out for yummy pizza, and took several walks ending in either a trip to the park or a couple visits to see the choo choo trains up the street.  All of this coupled with the entertainment of an iPad and she was set.  She also spent much time on Papa's lap as escape from some form of "chase" that Daddy concocted.  

Sophie spent much time in Nana's arms or getting burped by Papa, and Mommy was also able to whisk her away for her 2 week weight check up.  (She is up to 7lb 15oz!  Well past her birth weight!)

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

I have the most wonderful husband.  He brought my favorite flowers home (the orchids from our wedding), made me a dinner of mussels and oysters, and spent half the day out in our yard fixing all of the muddy areas and turning them into something MUCH prettier.  He planted boxwoods, added a border and mulch, and put grass seed down in hopes of repairing the damage from fallen leaves.  He also sprayed down the front porch area and balcony.  Thank you!!!!!

Maternity Leave in May

Gorgeous May weather makes for a wonderful time to be on maternity leave.  Daddy took the first two weeks off to help Mommy recover and take care of the girls.  After about a week we were all stir crazy, so we got out of the house.  A trip to the park first...

Then to the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Our first official dinner out as a family of four.  We've had several since.
