Thanks Great G'ma & G'pa!

Now THIS is Lucy's current favorite toy.  We used Great Grandma and Grandpa's birthday (and part Christmas) presents to buy the Fisher Price Home, and Lucy LOVES it!  She loves ringing the door bell and turning the "light switch" on and off.  And she dances every time music plays.  We also got her the work bench (not pictured) so she can pretend to be "handy" like Daddy :)

Kohl Children's Museum

A random Saturday was spent indoors since it's still too cold to play outside.  So we took Lucy to the Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview which gave her the perfect opportunity to run around and touch EVERYTHING!  I was so glad she had a place to explore, on foot!  A great opportunity to practice walking.  We even saw a baby chicken hatching!  Needless to say, she was pooped by the end of the day.

It Fits, It Fits!

Mommy has been dying to put Lucy in this outfit from Nana for so long.  It finally fits now!  Unfortunately today she didn't have the matching "knickers" on since it was pretty cold, but she had so much fun playing with the hat and putting it on her own head.  She is adorable, that girl.

Hugs

Lucy has learned to hug!  You can say "Give Mommy a hug" and she'll walk over with a big grin and put her head in your chest and let you squeeze her.  I usually give her a big hug and rock her back and forth in my arms to make it a game.  It makes all the stress of the day just melt away in that one moment. Gosh I love this girl.

She had another 1st birthday party to attend today as well, so we put her in her cupcake dress (courtesy of Nana) and she looked adorable and quite appropriate for spring.  Lucy is becoming quite the party girl...her calendar is starting to book up!  She has two more 1st birthday parties to attend in April!

Here she is all pooped out.

At The Car Wash Yeah

On this same Saturday we took Lucy with us to get our car washed.  She had fun watching the cars go in and get sprayed.  And while waiting for them to finish, Daddy helped her stretch her legs.  I love this picture...not only because of the matching hoodies and jacket vests, but they have the same stance...one is just bigger than the other.  Adorable.

Walking Rox

This weekend we had our first sunny and fairly warm day together as a family, so we got Lucy ready to head outside for a bit.  She insisted on walking Roxy herself.

Museum of Science and Industry

We took a trip on Sunday to the Museum of Science and Industry downtown with family/friends.  There were so many things for Lucy to explore!  She got to see airplanes...

Choo choo trains...

She saw the gas light villages, and learned about avalanches, tornado vortexes, and water ripples...

...and she ate ICE CREAM for the first time!  She loved it!

She also loved Emilio...I think it was her first official time touching a little baby.

And here is Daddy being the silly Engineer with Cousin Izzy...

A Date with Dixie Kitchen

Just a little iPhone photo of our trip to eat brunch at Dixie Kitchen on Saturday.  Unfortunately I cut off Daddy's head, but Lucy was so cute in her hat and mittens to hit the streets of Evanston.

Walking!

March Playdate

Lucy got to play with Brendan and his Mommy Kim again!

And as always, it wouldn't be the same without storytime with Kim.  Both kids love books!

Fun With Hair

The "Justin Bieber"

Bieber Fever!

And below, The "Eddie Munster" look...

...And last but not least, Clark Kent as "Superman"!!!!

Am I a terrible Mom for doing this to my daughter?!  Or maybe we were just bored on my day off.
Either way, Lucy was a good sport about it all.

A Girl and her Dog

Best Friends.
Well, unfortunately I think this relationship has become rather one-sided.  Lucy continues to be fascinated by dogs, and immediately says "Woof" when she sees Roxy enter the room, however she's also discovered that she has power and can elicit reactions from others through touch.  This is just a nice way of saying she's learned to hit.  Great.  My baby is a bully.

Big Girl

Ran some errands with Lucy and put her in the shopping cart for the first time.
It sneaks up on you, how fast they grow that is.

Lucy's also taken to a new obsession...the dog leash.  I think I will have to include her in every potty break for Roxy from now on.  We took Roxy out and Lucy held on to the leash the whole time.  It's hard to pry it away.
