Nana's birthday party was held on Sunday in Bailey's Grove, the same place that Aunt Melissa held her Rehearsal Dinner for her wedding. We think Nana had a pretty good time :)
Most importantly, it felt good to turn the tables for once and try to give my Mom a little taste of what she's done for us all as we grew up. For years our Mom planned birthday parties for 3 kids, giving us a cake EVERY year (letting us put in our requests for everything from traditional chocolate to jello cake) and made sure we always got our birthday presents. She would organize the Chuck E. Cheese (aka Show Biz Pizza) birthday parties, suffer through pre-teen sleep over parties, drive across the state with a birthday cake and treat our college roommates to dinner, or ship our presents in one big box to our dorm rooms. So even though it took some work and organization, I think it turned out to be a pretty nice 60th Birthday party, complete with her OWN homemade birthday cake. (I gave it another shot this time around, and I think it matched the pink and green decor rather well!)
Lucy found Nana's birthday presents...
So did Cousin Miles...
Twins! Our good friend Debbie came all the way from Wisconsin and I had to get a picture of the two of them wearing picture perfect outfits. As rambunctious as Lucy was, I got a pretty playful picture out of it.
